POMPANO OFFERS $75,000 GUARANTEED PICK-4 POOL ON TUESDAY

Pompano Beach, FL…December 17, 2019…The only thing hotter than the South Florida weather on Tuesday night will be a $75,000 guaranteed pool for Pompano Park’s Pick-4.

With four chalks shut out in Monday’s Pick-4, there were no winning tickets on the 1-1-1-5 combination resulting is a carryover of $15,934.89 going into the Tuesday program.

Tuesday’s Pick-4 will be contested on races five through eight.

Also of note, the Super Hi-5 carryover for Tuesday has ballooned to $6,483.73 and will be held in race eight.

Monday’s program featured the start of the “Pop-Up” series featuring a sprint in the opening leg with two divisions with the top 10 invited to the lengthy 1 1/4 mile finale.

Ideal Candidate and Quick Art were victorious in their respective divisions on Monday with the former scoring in 1:09.1 in his five-eighths dash and the latter hitting the wire in 1:09.2.

Ideal Candidate, a 13 year-old gelded war horse from the Mike Murphy stable, got picture perfect handling from Bryce Fenn to score his 69th career victory in 368 lifetime starts. Now owned by Laura Searway, the win pushed his career bounty to $412,530. He paid a handsome $21.60 to win.

Quick Art, driven by Rick Plano for trainer John MacDonald, made his Pompano Park fall debut a winning one by using the draw (post one) as his wire-to-wire strategy in winning his event.

Owned by George Tackley and Wendy Storrier, this seven year-old gelding won for the 31st time career-wise to vault his bankroll to $254,633.

Off at 14 to 1, Quick Art paid $30,00 to his faithful.

Post time for the Tuesday festivities is 7:20 p.m.
